  2. Please see the readme and the man page for general info.

  4. 1) Follow the samba installation instructions.
  5.  
  6. 2) If all goes well, test it out by creating a share on your PC (called
  7. backup for example) then doing something like,
  8.  
  9.   ./smbtar -s mypc -t /dev/rmt/0ubn -x backup
  10.  
  11. substituting whatever your tape drive is for the -t option, or set your
  12. tape environmental variable.
  13.  
  14. If all does not go well, feel free to mail the author (poultenr@logica.co.uk)
  15. about bug reports / help / money / pizza / etc.

  17. 3) Read the man page and the NOTES file for more information
  18.  
  19. 4) Work smbtar into your usual nightly backup scheme (presuming you
  20. have one :-}).
